There is another very interesting phenomenon that occurs around December 25th or the winter solstice. From the summer solstice to the winter solstice the days become shorter and colder, and from the prospective of the northern hemisphere the sun appears to move south and get smaller and more scarce. I think this is the most broad definition of emergency powers I’ve ever seen a president award to themselves, and it really is virtually dictatorial powers…the ability to take over and manage all levels of government including private sector organizations. And the directives have no indication that to get these powers the president has to go through congress.
