If martial law were enacted here at home, like depicted in the movie The Siege, easing public fears and quelling dissent would be critical, and that’s exactly what “the cleargy response team” as it’s called helped accomplish in New Orleans. Such clergy response teams would walk a tightrope between the needs of the government verses the wishes of the public.

I was standing at the back with my hands in the air… automatic rifle pointed at you you don’t have much choice. I mean they didn’t just have them pointed from their hip, I mean they had them up at their shoulder pointed, ya know. I mean they weren’t playing. They asked where we were going… so they said ok we’re seizing these weapons… they didn’t care what you rights were, they were going to deny them. It’s not America as we’ve known it before, it’s changing.
