If I may add a few things. First in your explanation of the origin of the so called able of Christ... If you believe in a devil you believe in a being that understands things prophesied in the Bible. The great deceiver creates false versions of the truth. Second in thinking about the words of G.Carlin at the beginning he almost states my case. Why would man make up a God with rules? Why would man conceive of a place called Hell. If it was to control the masses then it would've died out by now as all other ancient attempts have. It just couldn't last all these generations. The truth is that God deals with his people through personal relationships and surely its by faith that we believe and no way for us to prove anything to any who do not believe but to us personally the proof is in our lives. I'm not saying we are perfect but we are proven to at a personal level the reality of God. God answers prayer, He gives comfort, He gives reason for being. Sure we can't answer all the questions but can you? All we know has a beginning and our minds cannot easily accept something without a beginning but no matter what you believe whether God or evolution or something else, something must exist without a beginning. Something or someone must have always been. No human mind can easily handle that dilemna. With that in mind, why is it so hard to believe that someone being the source of all creation is God? There is are so many other arguments including how did so many different authors of the Bible over so many generations agree on the gospel. Also, God doesn't need our money. People doing good for others do. Sure many liars will abuse people's faith and much bad has been done in the name of God but on the other hand how much good and sacrifice has been done in the name of God. Martyrs who have given their lives, people who have given their time to help the poor which is a core message of the Bible. And yes that does require money. God is patient and loving to offer all a chance at eternal life in heaven but few will choose Him because they love their sin. If God was made from man's imagination, sin would not keep us from Heaven. I did thoroughly enjoy the addendum part II though. I'm curious as to how much of that may be true and leading us towards the one world order and prophecies of revelation. Man thinks he is so smart but totally unaware of the spiritual world around us.
